Evaluation of sainfoin accessions exposed to powdery mildew disease at four locations in Iran

نویسندگان

چکیده

In order to evaluate resistance of sainfoin (Onobrychis viciifolia) powdery mildew, seeds 19 accessions were collected from different parts Iran and sown at 4 locations, i.e. Kheirabad, Khoramabad, Semirom Tabriz, in 2014. Accessions evaluated for mildew severity index (DSI), forage dry matter yield (DM), digestibility (DMD) crude protein (CP) water soluble carbohydrate (WSC) concentrations over years. Based on Duncan’s test, 15353 3001 showed disease lower than 25% nominated as resistant mildew. Oshnavieh Polycross considered semi-resistant due their DSI ranging 25 50%. Other susceptible because was higher The (15353 3001) with average yields 3,341 3,304 kg DM/ha ranked having high DM production, addition displaying DMD plus CP WSC concentrations. Severity infection linked negatively all 3 quality traits, According Eberhart/Russell regression results, stability confirmed across locations. We recommend the use future breeding programs increase while least maintaining attributes. Evaluation other sources germplasm should continue identify further accessions.

Efficiency of resistance genes in wheat to powdery mildew in some centers of disease incidence in Iran

Wheat powdery mildew caused by fungal pathogen Blumeria graminis f.sp. tritici is a destructive wheat disease, occurring in regions with cool and humid climates. In order to investigate the changes in pathogenicity of the disease and to identify the effective genetic source of resistance, a total of 29 wheat genotypes with different resistance major genes (Pm) were studied in two hotspots of Go...

Heterogeneity of Powdery Mildew Resistance Revealed in Accessions of the ICARDA Wild Barley Collection

The primary genepool of barley comprises two subspecies - wild barley (Hordeum vulgare subsp. spontaneum) and cultivated barley H. vulgare. subsp. vulgare. The former originated 5.5 million years ago in southwest Asia and is the immediate ancestor of cultivated barley, which arose around 10,000 years ago. In this study, the specific resistance of a set of 146 wild barley accessions, maintained ...

Allelic series of four powdery mildew resistance genes at the Pm3 locus in hexaploid bread wheat.

At the Pm3 locus in hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum), 10 alleles conferring race-specific resistance to powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici) are known. A cluster of genes encoding coiled-coil-nucleotide-binding site-leucine-rich repeat proteins spans the Pm3 locus on wheat chromosome 1A, and one member of this gene family has recently been identified as the Pm3b resistance gene....

Induction of Disease Symptoms in Barley by Powdery Mildew.

Powdery millews usually grow superficially on their hosts but produce symptoms of disease throughout the underlying host tissues. The symptoms include marked increase in respiratory rate (1, 3, 15. 24, 26, 30. 35); accumulation of organic and inorganic substances (1,29, 36): increase in dry weight (10. 26) ; increase in wet weight (3) decrease in photosynthesis when the disease is well develope...
